Brandon Carnes

Brandon Carnes joined the firm as a senior associate in 2021 and focuses his practice on commercial and construction matters. Brandon has extensive experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in commercial litigation, including claims relating to shareholder disputes, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud. In the construction context, Brandon has represented owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and related individuals and entities in contracts (both private and public) and mechanics liens disputes. Brandon also has extensive experience defending businesses and employers from both individual and class action employment and consumer law claims (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and similar state laws). His transactional practice focuses primarily on reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts. Brandon also takes a particular interest in regulatory and compliance matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Brandon practiced law in Chicago and litigated cases both throughout Illinois and in federal courts across the country for eight years. Brandon was pleased to have the opportunity to relocate to Nashville and to further grow his practice. Brandon prides himself on his writing and argument skills, and he emphasizes obtaining practical, client-oriented results in a cost-effective manner.

Outside of the office, Brandon now resides in Nashville with his wife, five-year old son, and an adopted cat named by the five-year old, “Flipsy Baskets.” Brandon is an avid traveler, foodie, movie buff, and he remains an irrationally committed Buffalo Bills fan.
